My main project for this production was painting the Von Trapp family’s stately grand staircase. A combination of real stained wood and (also real) painted wood, the final production-ready set piece is an elegant patchwork demonstrating what is possible when canny builders and painters do their thing with donated wood in varying condition. Other tasks for this set included painting the patio door and stone arches for the abbey; and designing and painting Maria Von Trapp’s edelweiss wallpaper. I also played Mother Abbess in this production, so you might be able to spot me in a few production photos below!
